Craft Brew (Trouble Brewing #2)Craft Brew by Layla Reyne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second in a series and is, in my opinion, the better of the two so far. I found myself thrown into book 1 feeling lost, but Craft Brew was a life raft or a compass rose.

This book was so much more personal and highlighted both MC's emotions and characters and delved into the questions that Imperial Stout (Book 1) had left us readers with unanswered.

Nic is still dealing with his father Curtis' money issues throughout this book, but we get more information as to his past and the woman his father hired to take care of him. We also get a sense of what he went through when he came out and how that led to his decisions and his fear of commitment.

Cam was the main player in this plot line. He gets the call that his mother has suffered a heart attack and most of the story takes place with him back home in Boston, surrounded by his brothers and parents. His sister's kidnapping was alluded to in the first book, but this delves into her case and Cam's shady past and why his brother Keith is so angry. We also realize how much his missing sister has shaped the framework of his career and life.

There is a lot of action in this book, but there is also a lot more tender moments and love between friends, siblings and family. The overall feeling of this book was way more romantic and endearing than the first, which was more my style. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend.
