Survive and Conquer by Andrew Grey

When Andrew Grey writes, you know you are going to get a well planned, well executed romance with an HEA and this story provides it all.

Newton is in his 40's, has two adopted children, a bum foot and a social worker job he loves. When he needs an attorney for a client, his persistence pays off when Chase agrees to meet his client for dinner.

Chase, a family law attorney, has no time for dating. He's on the fast track to partner at his firm and he needs to get to where he can pick his own cases instead of having to represent the 'bad guys'.

With very little angst, this was purely about putting family first and finding the courage to trust after being burned in the past. Both MC's were sweet and took their time, but the longing was palpable.

This is the perfect story to warm your heart and give you all the feels!

On Shaky Ground by Andrew Grey

I love reading a book about a character with a disability. This was charming.

Brock has finished college and can't find a job. When a financial trading company contacts him with an opportunity for a job interview, he jumps at the chance. It's not until he arrives that he realizes it's just an assistant position. When he meets the man he'd be assisting, he realizes it's more than just answering phones and taking notes. He'd literally be the eyes of the CEO and he can't pass up the opportunity.

I felt like the relationship between Brock and Martin had substance and made it so much more real. From the start, Brock took on his personal issues professionally, like ensuring his tie and collar were straight. It was sweet and went a long way to solidify their deep attraction.

This was a nice, quick, feel good read with two sweet MC's that deserve the HEA they got in the end.

Fire and Granite by Andrew Grey

I thoroughly enjoyed this listen. I think this series is fun and this was a great addition. Greg Tremblay did an amazing job, as usual, of creating completely different voices for each character, inserting emotion and feeling into each written word.

Tons of drama and excitement, a bit of mystery and two men who communicated well and loved fiercely.

Fire and Agate by Andrew Grey

I really, really enjoyed listening to this book. It was interesting and sweet and very well done.

Pavle had dreams of coming to the United States to get away from Serbia and find a better life. Instead, he got caught up in a sex trafficking ring and spent 4 years in hell. He managed to escape and is in protective custody, but he won't be safe until his captor is caught.

Chris is a deputy officer and is asked to take on the role of protector of Pavle. He's brought to his home where he is terrified of everything and can barely communicate. But, in finding ways to include Pavle in various chores and activities, he gets to know the man that he really is. They were the perfect blend of hesitant and innocent and it was fun to hear their relationship progress.

I found the story to be well written, engaging and full of heart. Greg Tremblay presented a wide array of talent in his performance. I was impressed with his version of Pavle with his broken English and the grief and hope in his voice. Chris was both very sweet and protective and came across as an overall nice guy who was compassionate and loving.

I would absolutely recommend taking the time to enjoy this audio experience.

Borrowed Heart by Andrew Grey

I love a book that features main characters that have known each other a while and something changes where they finally see the other. This was so good I couldn't stop reading.

Robin was born with a bad heart. A lifetime of surgeries and a transplant later, he's a tour guide for a small gay tourist company in Germany. After being left by Mason, his ex, five years into the relationship, he's destined to be alone. And since he figures he doesn't have much time left, he's resigned himself to that fate.

Johan takes chances. He likes to live and be happy. As the driver of the tour bus, he's watched Robin and knows he's holding himself back, but he doesn't understand his motives. So, he makes his interest known on this special tour and hopes to change both their lives for the better.

I loved Johan's lust for life. He was just so present in everything he did. All of his actions were thought out and caring. Robin was more sweet and somewhat innocent. He was the type of guy who could read a situation and add fun or reduce drama in an instant. They were a perfect match.

Their story was sweet. The romance took off, and while most of the intimate scenes were off page, Andrew Grey's writing left you with an obvious feeling of the growth of their love and relationship. It all flowed very well and was low on angst. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire story.

New Tricks by Andrew Grey

I really enjoyed reading this story. I felt like the characters were genuine and I loved the homey feeling.

Thomas Stepford has spent the last 21 years building an empire for himself, but his life in New York City is killing him... literally. He's got to slow down before his body gives out on him and he's only 39. He's decided to move back home to Colorado Springs to be closer to his parents and to try to live a slower life. His assistant, Marjorie, hires him a local assistant, Brandon, who seems familiar.

Brandon Wilson has finished college with an MBA and can't find a job. He'll take anything at this point. So, when his grandmother gives him a lead on an assistant position, he sends in his resume. Come to find out, he'll be assisting his teenage crush, Thomas Stepford. But he's sure he can keep everything professional... maybe.

There was one aspect of this story that didn't sit right with me, unfortunately. From the start it seemed strange that Thomas had only had one relationship and yeah, it ended badly, but once the truth comes out and it was a harrowing experience, I am surprised he wasn't more guarded than he was. It seemed like the experience he went through was glazed over, which I found a little weird.

I absolutely loved Brandon's character. He was so confident and went after what he wanted in all aspects of his life. And I loved how Thomas was the dominant force, however, when work was through, he really just needed to be taken care of, which Brandon did brilliantly.

Honestly, the main characters were made for each other and I felt that in the writing from the start. It was a fun, exciting read with a clear path and an ending that left me feeling good.
