Who We WereWho We Were by Melissa Collins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"I couldn't exactly put a finger on it, but as I walked back out into the yard, a sense of calm enveloped me. No matter what happened at the end of our time together, I knew that this would forever go down as one of the most significant moments of my life."

Talk about a heart-wrenching surprise. I had no idea going into this that there would be so many feelings. I am pretty sure I ran through the full gamut of heartbreak, anger, love, hate, hope, disappointment and giddiness.

Ryan and Quinn met in Junior High and ignored each other until they were Seniors. Quinn had a fun loving sister and parents who supported him, as well as a bright future. Ryan was overshadowed by his twin brother and felt as though he was alone and lost. When he found out that his life wasn't even half as bad as he had thought, he ran.

Now it's 12 years later and he has no choice but to deal with the fallout and decide what his future will hold, and if it includes Quinn.

Melissa Collins' writing gripped me from the start and never let go. Her words were engaging and every time a new chapter started, I had to keep reading. So many times I wanted to strangle Ryan or console Quinn while I read, and I love it when I can feel so much connection with the characters when I'm reading.

This is an absolute must read and I can't wait to see what else she has in store.
