Tortilla Pie: A Recipe for Romance by Rick R. Reed
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Sooooo incredibly sweet and charming!
This was exactly what a novella should be. Short, sweet, believable and fun.
Josh volunteers at a homeless kitchen with a non-fraternization policy. While it's never been an issue in the past, this day he sees Anderson and there's an instant spark. And it's perfect timing because it's Anderson's last day at the shelter.
Insta-love in a novella is so many times a cringeworthy component, but that's not what this was about. This was far better than that. This was hope. It was a start of something. Of two people deciding on giving it a chance. It was adorable and cute and very reminiscent of a John Hughes-esque romance. And totally recommended by this reader.
