The Color of SummerThe Color of Summer by Anna Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Overall, the story had a good cast of characters, likable MC's and some fun times, but I just felt like it was lacking along the way in plot.

When Max Marshall decides to move back home to his semi-small town, he runs into his best friend's older brother, Tyler Reed. Things between them heat up a bit, but there are some bumps along the way before they can have any sort of HEA.

First of all, a tattoo artist is one of my overall favorite kind of character, so I will admit that I loved Max's job. He was a really nice, fun loving guy who got along well with kids and was super supportive. It felt strange to me, though, that he was a such a strong force in his business life, but his personal life he was so wishy-washy. It didn't really fit with his character in my opinion.

Tyler had a hang up about being gay. In the beginning he said he wasn't. Then he was. Then he was okay with talking about it, but didn't want to be seen. Then he could lose his job. It didn't flow well, to me, and then all of a sudden it was just never brought up again.

I really enjoyed so many parts of this story, but they just didn't seem to come together well enough for me to have been super excited about the characters and their outcome.
